Day of the Dead, Sunday 30th October

12pm-4pm

Join Kinning Park Complex for a special Halloween Social Sunday, full of fun FREE activities for all the family.
We've got face painting, sew-your-own Halloween costume, Mexican food by the Mad Chef, our regular Swap Shop... and more!

Workshops this week are inspired by Mexican culture and led by artists Greer Pester and Sarah Rankin:

12 - 1pm

build your very own upcycled 'Alebrijes' paper- mache tropical plants, plastic Marigold flowers & 'Talavera' decorative tiles to adorn the altar with.

1 - 2pm

upcycle Marigold flowers out of plastic bags + design a tile in the 'Talavera' style to adorn the altar with.

2 - 3pm

build your very own 'Eye of God' yarn mandala.
The 'huichol' indigenous tribes of North Mexico use these to protect themselves and those most vulnerable from harm!

 3-3:45pm

Decorate your Tropical plants with lots of colour. Then we will place your crafted items in the altar to be displayed at the end of the day.
