As part of our Waste not Want project, we are hosting a Super Social Sunday in association with the UK charity 10:10 climate action. Did you know Prince used to secretly buy people solar panels? We’re working with climate charity 10:10 on a Prince inspired project that aims to put solar panels on our roof and the roofs of five other fantastic community organisations across the UK through a collaborative crowdfunder!

The money raised from this project will go towards helping make our beautiful 107 year old building more energy efficient. This in turn will save us money on energry costs which we can put towards building restoration & valuable community projects!

On this special Social Sunday there will be a variety of workshops for both adults & kids such as the creation of solar powered toys, solar powered art workshops and up-cycling based craft workshops running all day!

We will also have an interactive creative kids drama workshop from the children’s theatre company, Eco Drama which you can sign your kids up for before hand just contact clare@kinningparkcomplex.org. The workshops will be at 12pm-1pm and 2pm-3pm.

As well as all that we will have our regular bike maintenance workshop which will fix your bike for a donation and give you the skills you need to maintain it yourself 🚴

We will have fantastic live music from an array of talented folks such as Korean rock band Wasted Johnnys 웨이스티드 쟈니스 and a pedal powered sound system with DJ’s to get us moving!

There will be tasty BBQ food from our KPCafe prepared by the one and only Mad Chef and our amazing team of kitchen volunteers. All the food at KPC comes is surplus food that has been intercepted from supermarkets via FareShare as well as local suppliers like Premier Produce.

We will also be launching our brand new Herb & Sensory Garden which we are working hard on right now to get ready for the day! This comes to you as our fundraising campaign comes to a close, but there is still time to donate via the link below.

Everyone is welcome to join us, this will be a great opportunity to experience KPC if you have never been along before or even if you are a regular volunteer! We are super excited for the day and we hope you can make it down to join the fun. Share with your family & friends to help us spread the good word ✌️
