Lindsey McGhie
Chair
I am a dedicated advocate for community-led initiatives with over a decade of experience in governance, strategic leadership, and grassroots engagement. With a passion for fostering inclusive, sustainable spaces, I have served on the boards of multiple organisations including charities, CICs, and SCIOs, ensuring strong governance, accountability, and alignment with mission-driven goals. For these organisations I have championed community empowerment through education, arts, and activism.
As a skilled facilitator and communicator, I have experience in building collaborative relationships, engaging funders, and amplifying community voices in decision-making. I am committed to leading KPC with integrity, fostering strategic growth, and ensuring we remain a vital hub for creativity and solidarity. Guided by the values of equity, empowerment, and sustainability, I strive to create a lasting impact through my transformative leadership style.

My previous roles have included working in external audit and start ups, providing a range of experiences from which to draw on. I believe in the importance of local community initiatives and am looking forward to contributing as a Trustee to the work that KPC does. I live in the Southside with my cat, enjoy growing tomatoes and getting out in the Scottish hills.

I moved to the G41 postcode last year and am passionate about the importance of building and living in community with one another. I believe resources that are community owned and operated are best placed to facilitate community cohesion, relationships and wellbeing. I look forward to using my degree in politics from Glasgow University as well as my experience building relationships with a wide and diverse range of people to support the work of KPC.I have volunteered part- and full-time for a range of charities for over a decade in a range of areas including long-term strategy planning and the organising and operating of events. I’m excited about the opportunity to get stuck in and contribute my skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm towards helping KPC continue to flourish and serve our community.

It’s been roughly 10 years since I regularly attended KPC - pre-renovation! I’m excited about being involved in KPC as a community-led and owned organisation - I see this as a way to harness and enact the agency and empowerment of the community. Over my nearly 15 years in Glasgow, I’ve worked in a variety of third sector organisations, so am familiar with the local landscape, particularly the South side. I bring an inclusive and intersectional lens, and am driven to continue growing in this area. Across my experiences in community engagement, wellbeing and mental health, drama and play-work, I’ve developed an empathic and constructive approach to relationship-building. I currently work in a self-employed capacity as a creative psychotherapist. Within this and other roles I also bring experience of the practical, procedural and policy side of things. Otherwise, some things I enjoy are local parks, gardening, and random craft projects.

As a freelance Graphic and Visual Designer, I bring over seven years of experience in crafting high-quality artwork, developing brand stories, increasing social engagement, and creating meaningful user experiences. My work spans graphic design, illustration, website development, marketing and communications, and I am passionate about using design as a tool for positive change.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to helping communities, enterprises, charities and small businesses flourish through my visual lens. As a creative problem solver, I thrive on bringing ideas to life and shaping impactful narratives that connect with audiences.
I am excited to serve as a Trustee and support KPC’s growth and success. Beyond my professional work, I enjoy art, music, painting, and a good crafty DIY project, always looking for new ways to express creativity and innovation. Originally from Bulgaria, I have been living and working in Scotland for over a decade, embracing the vibrant culture and community.

I moved to Kinning Park in June 2024, but I’ve been part of a local church community here for several years. I hold a degree in English and Theatre Studies, and since graduating, I’ve worked coordinating the activities in a care home in Kinning Park, taught musical theatre to young children, and been part of the team at a small Bible college in the centre of Glasgow. Through these and more, I’ve gained a strong understanding of the variety and value of community initiatives.
I believe that fostering connection within local communities brings significant benefits to individual and collective wellbeing. I'm passionate about encouraging others to engage with their community, and I’m excited to contribute to the ongoing story of the Kinning Park Complex and support the continuation of its important work in the area.
