Living Rent – Govan & Ibrox Branch - invite you to a radical history walking tour of the Govan ward (in collaboration with Glasgow Radical tours) & a delicious community meal.

We’re a mass-membership union of tenants, carers, workers and residents who organise with one another to fight for improvements to our daily lives and put power back where it belongs: in the hands of ordinary people.

2 - 4pm Meet up at Water Row flats and finish at Kinning Park Complex. We’ll move at a gentle walking pace. A radical history walking tour of Govan in collaboration with Glasgow Radical tours– ranging from Clydeside mass walkouts to individual tenants standing up to their landlords. Loads of local hidden history from 1800’s to 2025.

4 - 6pm A child friendly summer community meal at KPC celebrating the Govan ward. A chance to sit down with your neighbours and local Living Rent branch members. On the menu: lasagne, halal Chicken biryani, huge range of home baking, mac n cheese, vegetable samosas & pakoras, soup – all homemade! Halal, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets all catered for. Free kids' art activities too. Free local travel costs covered for anyone who needs (Day bus pass etc. cash on the day).
